The My Ombudsman program (MYO) provides free ombudsman services to any MassHealth members who need help accessing covered benefits or services. Over the coming months, MassHealth will conduct a new procurement of the MYO contract. As MassHealth prepares for that procurement, we are looking for general stakeholder feedback or ideas regarding the program, including input on the following questions:

  • Have you heard of My Ombudsman?

  • What has worked well with the My Ombudsman program?

  • What could be improved?

  • Or, in general, what are the most important parts or characteristics of an ombudsman program to keep in mind moving forward?

  • Should potential bidders be limited to community-based organizations, as now?

  • Should MassHealth keep the name, “My Ombudsman”?

At this session, MassHealth will provide a brief overview of the My Ombudsman program, and then will open up the session for attendees to share their thoughts

ASL interpretation will be provided. Additional special accommodation requests may be directed to the Disability Accommodations Ombudsman by email at ADAAccommodations@mass.gov or by phone at (617) 847-3468 (TDD/TTY: 711 or (617) 847-3788 for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or speech disabled). Please make these requests by 5pm on Wednesday, November 6th.

If you have any questions about this listening session, please contact Malinda Ellwood (Malinda.Ellwood@mass.gov).

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
